Did you install WSB?

I’ve got some questions regarding system state backups. Many people find it confusing managing backup of system states on 2008 and 2008R2 servers.

Many people make a protection group as they should but they will never get a valid recovery point on their DPM server. The DPM server will only use some MB of the allocated Replica and Recovery Point volumes in the DPM storage pool.

The majority of those administrators forget to add the feature WSB or Windows Server Backup Features. On the affected server, add the WSB feature and your backup of the System State will run.
