Error when entering the SCOM 2012 License key

In some scenarios the Operations Manager Shell won’t be able to write changes to the registry due to limited rights even if you run the Operations Manager Shell as an administrator.

When entering the SCOM license key you may end up with the following errors:

 

 

To solve this open a PowerShell command prompt running with administrative rights and import the SCOM PowerShell modules.

Use the command Import-Module OperationsManager to be able to run OperationsManager PowerShell CMDLET's.

 

Next use this syntax: Set-SCOMLisence –ProductId XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
