DPM Agent installation failure

I ran into a problem regarding a DPM agent that I couldn’t install. There were no information in the local logs on the server indicating any errors. There used to be a DPM agent installed but it had been successfully removed.

The error I received when I tried to install the agent manually was “Protection Agent cannot be installed on machine where DPM is installed”. DPM was never installed on this server…

 

 

The solution was to install the DPM agent using the DPM media.
