Will my library work???

Recently I have got several questions regrding HOW to verify that a specific tape library actually will work with DPM or not.

There is always the “rule-of-thumb” that says if the tape drive and library will show up without any error in the device manager you are 99% sure that it will work since DPM will use standard communication between server and hardware.

But in those cases you really want to be sure you can always use the Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager Tape Library Certification Test Tool.

The tool will run a series of test verifying the communication and function for the tape library.
