SAC vs. LTSC

Microsoft announced a while back that they will start to release their software in a so-called Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) and Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC).

The intention of SAC is to have two release of the System Center software per year making it possible for clients to get the new functions and features more quickly to the users. This is a great step enabling the possibility to get on track with faster supported software scenarios.

One this that is important is that Semi-Annual Channel will only be available for client who has software assurance.

The Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) will still be around and service releases of major System Center releases.
